Exactly Bill, everything that happens to us happen for a reason and it can usually be traced back to us... what we did or didn't do.

Hi Jimmy. You bring up the point that life is not just a collection of random experiences. They all link together and the pattern that you build as you progress is the foundation for your future. You can build your life out of negative experiences or positive ones or a mixed bag of each. Many people have sort of a mixed bag as a foundation and because of that think that life is a 50/50 coin toss--sometimes you\'ll take advantage of others (and others will take advantage of you) and sometimes you'll do the right thing (and others will treat you properly as well).
Thanks for the post,

Thanks for your comment Bill. In truth, there's absolutely nothing wrong with doing what you love. We're all supposed to do what we love. It's just that for some of these superstars, their rapid rise didn't allow them the time to grow into responsible well-rounded individuals.

Intriguing post. I think the general public views famous people as being successful in life, where often it is just the opposite. This is particularly true for those that rose to the top based on one talent that they possess, and even more so when the rise was rapid. Success in life overall depends on maintaining a balance. This is difficult in a life that depends on doing one thing in excess, such as maintaining a talent. Even if a person spends little time maintaining the talent since it comes naturally, that person still has to deal with the constant spotlight of the media, superficial relationships, and over-abundance. Can having outrageous talent be a bad thing? Absolutely.

Hi Tita... thanks for the comment. You're right, there's nothing in the future that hasn't already happened in my past or someone else's past. By looking back and connecting the dots I can predict the future.

I completly agree, Steve Job motto is mine too. Going back to the past and look when you have been succesful, how did you get here, it showed that you can do it, even better now. Failure is just a learning experience. Failure dont exist only in a conditioned mind, we need failure (concept)to learn. Failure is an ally not our enemy.

I agree with you Bill, that you need faith, but I believe what Steve refers to is not blind faith. It is faith that is based on something that you experienced, observed in the past which you believe will somehow work out in the future. Obviously you have to rely on your intuition to guide you.

Cool post Jimmy. I like your interpretation. When I first read the quote I was thinking more along the lines of having blind faith. Faith can in some greater power or it can just be to trust your own intuition. Whatever it is, you cannot use just your mind to guide you, because your mind is limited to logic. There is more to your path than logic. Thanks for this post,
Bill
