Life’s Golden Rules

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

I have found the following to be some of life’s golden rules. Follow them and you’ll lead a life that can’t help but be smooth and charmed. They under no particular order and one is not necessarily more important than the other. Remember what is written in the Bible… “If you disregard one iota of the law, it is as if you’ve disregarded it all”

- Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you
- If you open something, close it
- If you remove something, put it back
- If you promise something, do it
- If you love someone, show it
- If you do something wrong, apologize
- If you can’t say something good about someone or something, don’t say it at all
- If you have a problem with someone, raise it with the person concerned, rather than with someone else
- Stand for something, or you’ll fall for anything

These are just a few that I can think of right now, but I’ll add some more as I remember them. I’m sure, you too have picked up a few glden rules that you found works for you.

You’re welcome to add them.

Be blessed…

Start where you are, with what you have

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe

What do you want… where you want to go… what do you want to accomplish? Well, whatever it is, the best place to start is right where you are, using whatever it is you want.

Many people wait for things to change, or for them to be in a new relationship, or to have more money before they start doing something. However the truth is that you’ll never started if that is your attitude.

Your ship will never come in. You have to swim out towards it. You have everything you need right where you are, even if it doesn’t seem like it.

If there is something you don’t like where you are right now, then change it. If you can’t change it, then accept it. It may be just what you need right now.

The greatest asset that you have right now, is your mind. If your mindset and your attitude is right you can do, be and have anything you want.

As you start using what you have, you’ll find that you’re starting to receive more. So be grateful for what you have and focus on what you want, not what is… because when you do, you’ll receive more of the same.

I’m still vacationing in Namibia, Africa right now. There are many things that I miss that I have in the Caribbean, such as the cheap Internet connectivity. But instead of worrying about that I appreciate what I have here, such as family and friends and good food, which I will not have when I return soon.
