Does the Law of Attraction Work – With Examples!

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Does the law of attraction work? Yes it does, and I’m going to give you some examples, both from the ancient times and from my own life.

From the moment that you start to clearly express your desire the law of attraction starts to work for you, by attracting the things you say want.

In order to make the things you want come into this physical plane, the Universe has to arrange people, places, circumstances and most importantly, you.

You see, when you are poor and you say you want to be rich; there are some adjustments that have to be made to you. Poor people believe, think and act in a way that perpetuates poverty and this has to be changed. This is to ensure that you don’t lose everything that you get just after getting it or that the new-found wealth doesn’t ruin you.

You know the saying, “easy come, easy go”, and you just have to look at real-life events to see how true this statement is. People who win lotteries and get instant huge sums of money in other ways are just unable to cope with the demands brought about by this sudden wealth. And as a result most of those who get money in this way lose it just as quickly.

That is why there is a process that has to take place. And sometimes this process can be painful, especially when you resist it.

Whenever something happens to you in life, you have a choice in how you respond to it.

And the way that you respond to it, will determine whether things will unfold smoothly and fast for you or whether things will be drawn out and very painful.

Let me give you an example from ancient times. When the Jews were in Egypt, they were enslaved and mistreated by the Egyptians. They longed for a
better life where they could be free.

God heard their prayers and put the law of attraction into motion. But there was a process that happened, things didn’t just happen instantly. First there was the persecution that got worse, and then Pharaoh refused to let them go as demanded by God through Moses. And just when they thought it was all over after they left Egypt, God led them through a desert.

The law of attraction was still working for them, and they were attracting the life they wanted, but they had to be changed so that they were ready for the Promised Land. In order for this to happen, they had to be put into a pressure cooker of some sort, and the desert as well as all the experiences they had so far, provided that.

Remember I said, the way you respond to what happens in your life, will determine whether things will unfold smoothly and fast for you or whether things will be drawn out and very painful. Here you see a very good example of that.

The Jews resisted their new situation, and some of them even longed back to the life they had in Egypt, which was a life they desired to get out of. The end result of this resistance is that they spent 40 years wandering through the desert.

The journey to the Promised Land would perhaps have taken them 1 year or even less than that, if they had “accepted” what they were going through as part of the process and instead trusted their God.

Today, we are no different. I can tell you stories of all the things I went through because I resisted the process. Why could others have what they want and I couldn’t? I didn’t understand why, but I wasn’t ready and I had to be cut and formed first. It took me years to get to where I am so that I could eventually manifest my dreams and desires, while it took others mere months or perhaps a year.

Don’t wait for years to manifest your desires and attract the life you want

You Can Become Something, Even If You Have Nothing Now!

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

A lot of people would say, “they must have had something.” Yes, they had something. They had their talent and their gifts as everyone else has, but not much else.

I guess it is hard for some people to accept that somebody who was probably worse off then themselves could go and make their dreams come true. However, it is a fact that some people really had nothing, apart from their talent or gift, yet made it.

One such family were the Judds. Today, country singer Naomi Judd and daughters Wynonna and Ashley are known all over the world and have thousands of fans, but few knew their struggles before they became famous.

I heard about these struggles for the first time when Wynonna Judd appeared on CNN’s Larry King over the weekend, to talk about their lives. About how they were on welfare and didn’t even had a telephone or a television, when they were young.

However in spite of such impossible odds Naomi and Wynonna became major country music stars. Little sister Ashley Judd is a major Hollywood actress.

If you don’t know anything about being on welfare. It means, being at the very bottom of the social ladder. If you have a television and a telephone in your house, you have something they never had, so be grateful for what you have and make the most of it.

How to Go on, When the Going Gets Rough!

Monday, May 19th, 2008

There has never been a more opportune time to follow your heart and realize your dreams. However getting to the pot of gold is not always easy. It takes dedication, commitment and the willingness to do whatever it takes.

So how do you go on when the going gets tough. When you have dug and toiled, day after day, week after week, and you experience all kinds of disappointments and frustrations.

When you have used the best scientific data, indicating the best locations to dig and are still not finding the rich deposit, which you know is there somewhere. Or when you have developed the best looking website, developed the best product and what you think is the best sales copy, and you still fail to make the sales that you know should follow?

Do you say it is not working and give up, like the gold prospector in Napoleon Hill’s classic “think and grow rich”, who stopped just 3 feet from his pot of gold?

What do you do when everything you know, doesn’t seem to work?

The best thing to do is to take time out and become still. Yes, stop toiling for a while and make some quiet time, because its no use just hammering away if you are hitting at the wrong place.

The quiet time will help you reflect on what you have done so far and gain some new perspective. Take a book that has inspired you countless times or the Bible and read.

Don’t put pressure on yourself trying to find an answer, just let yourself go, any whichever way and the answers will come.

Take a piece of paper and just write. What about? Anything really. You can write about the confusion you feel.

Talk to yourself, not negative stuff that will make you feel worse then you already do, but tell yourself that you are getting the answers you are looking for. Don’t talk as someone who is without hope but talk like someone who knows its only a matter of time.

Most importantly though, listen to yourself, and then try again using some of the new insights you have gained from your inner person, your subconscious.

Sometimes, you’re at the right place, you just need to go 3 feet further down or 3 feet to the left, or right. Or sometimes the time just isn’t right and you just need to wait a little while longer.

But these are things no scientific data will ever tell you. This is something which comes from inside you, your subconscious mind which knows everything. That is why it is important to take time out and listen, because if you don’t you may just miss the key you need and waste an awful lot of time and money.

Here’s something else you can do. Every time you feel discouraged or a little afraid, go and read about your icons or heroes. How they started out. How they felt, when they were still at the bottom, the things they said and did when it really got rough, and be inspired. If possible try and trace a childhood friend of your heroes and talk to them.

In his classic, “Think and Grow Rich” Napoleon Hill describes how his subjects held imaginary conversations with great men who went before them. The result was that afterwards they became more inspired.

Imagine having an intimate, one on one conversation with Bill Gates or Henry Ford, and asking them all the questions you’ve always wanted to ask them.

It would be awesome wouldn’t it. When you come out of there you will be so focused on your goal that nothing anybody say will discourage you.

Something else you should do is to continuously remind yourself that everybody who is now successful, was once at the very place where you are now. The important thing is that they didn’t remain there.

If you are serious about attaining your goals you will also not remain there. But remember, it requires commitment and dedication even through the tough times.

Oh, how sweet it is to hold that prize after all the struggling. That’s when you realize all the trials and tribulations were worth it. But you will never savor that experience, you will never know how good it feels when you give up.

Everything’s Allright, Go Ahead Confidently…

Friday, May 16th, 2008

How many times have you felt led to do something…

The signs were everywhere that this was what you were supposed to do. And then halfway things just start to go wrong and you’re stuck. You try this and you try that and nothing seems to work.

The result is that you start to question if the voice you heard was really from your higher self.

You wonder if the signs you saw were really there or you saw what you wanted to see.

You become despondent, frustrated and soon you give up.

Sounds familiar?

I don’t know about you, but I kept on doing this for a long time without realizing where I was going wrong.

After major disappointments and frustrations I finally realized what the problem was.

I wasn’t trusting the Universe enough to supply every need, every thing I needed. So I would do something and stop and see if the things I had no control over were coming along as I expected them to.

And every time I looked they were behind or so it looked to me. And instead of just focussing on where I was going and doing what I was supposed to be doing I got distracted by what had nothing to do with me.

And because I stopped and were no longer focussing on the end result with peace and joy, I stopped the flow of the divine energy.

One thing that I now realize, which I wished I had realized sooner is that the Universe will never be late to deliver. It will always be on time.

All you and me need to do is to fully trust that it will bring its side and to just keep on doing your part. What you’ll find is that when you are ready, everything else will be ready for you.

There is a very powerful saying, “When the Student is Ready, the Teacher will appear” which illlustrates this point very well.

But it is not just the teacher who will appear when you are ready; everything else will unfold as you are ready for each new step and not a moment sooner.

So did you get a sign or an idea about something you need to do? Then just do it. Stop wondering about how it will come together or if at all it will.

Just do your part and the Universe will do its part.

What Comes First, Happiness or Success?

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

It is a bit like the chicken and the egg question isn’t it?

I think we are agreed that most people in the world are unhappy. If you ask them what would make them happy, then #1 on the list would be money.

Next may be things like better health, a house or a better house, a car or a better car,  and so and and on.

People believe that if they can have those things that they currently don’t have, that they would be happy.

To find out if this thinking is true, we just need to take a quick snapshot of people who already have money to see if they are happy.

Now, what we find is that people with money are not necessarily happy. Of course there are many people who have money and are happy, but equally there are many people who have money and are unhappy.

One just need to look at the recent Britney Spears saga as well as the news reports about other rich people. You’ll see that there is always something missing even in the lives of the rich people. And those who are unhappy will again tell you that they need that thing, perhaps a life partner to be happy.

The thing is this: We will always have desires. The fact that one desire got fulfilled doesn’t mean that we will stop having desires. When you got the money you wanted you may want more money or you may want better health; a life partner or you may want to become president.

So as you can see our desires will never stop. If we wait for our desires to be fulfilled before we become happy we will wait forever.

So why not choose to become happy now.

Why not appreciate what you have now?

Why not choose to be thankful for what you have now?

When you do that – when you focus on the now – you will find that the things you don’t want don’t mater that much anymore.

And when you start to appreciate what you have you’ll find more things that you can appreciate. The more you do that, you’ll find that it becomes more enjoyable… and the happiness that you feel and experience will show you ways and opportunities that you can have the things you want.

When it comes to happiness, most folks have it backwards.

It is not success that leads to happiness, but it is the other way around.

Happiness leads to success, wealth and health.

Why You Should Become A Mastermind

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Have you ever wondered why the head of a company gets paid so much more than for example, specialists in the company such as an engineer? Is it because he knows every job in the company?

No I don’t think so. He may have a general idea about what is going on in every department but that usually is it.

I believe it is because he knows or is supposed to know how to lead, organize, manage and bring together, different units to efficiently function as one. I call such a person a mastermind and I believe that anyone can become one.

As a mastermind you don’t need to know everything about a company or an area of business you wish to venture in. A little bit is helpful but not necessary.

People think to become spectacularly successful you need to be highly educated or a genius. I will show you in this short article that you don’t need either to become successful beyond your wildest dreams in any area you may choose.

Let me give you a real-life example of someone who didn’t know everything yet achieved a lot in many different areas. I’m sure you’ve heard of British billionaire Sir Richard Branson. One of the first ventures that Branson got involved in was the music industry. Was he a musician? No! Did he know how the music industry worked? No! He didn’t know much about the music industry except that there was a lot of money to be made.

Branson started Virgin Records and made a lot of money in a short time. Next he launched an airline called Virgin Atlantic. Following this Branson launched a number of other ventures including a soft drink, Virgin Cola, as well as Fitness clubs. Did Branson know a lot about these industries he got involved in? The answer is again no!

So, as the example of Sir Richard Branson clearly illustrates, you can venture into virtually any industry and make a success of it without knowing too much about it. All you need is the ability to identify needs and to capitalize on them coupled with a fervent desire to succeed.

How is this possible you may ask? Let me tell you how and why this is possible! There are and always will be people with skills and qualifications who will need someone to provide them with a job. As a mastermind you can become that someone.

We all know what happened after September 11, when airlines and other firms started to downsize. Thousands and thousands of highly qualified people were laid off to roam the streets looking for jobs. Thousands more left colleges and joined the thousands already on the streets hoping to find a job.

Those who are already masterminds capitalized on this opportunity and if you were one, you could too. Here’s what you need to do in order to become a mastermind:

  • First you need to identify a need in the marketplace or elsewhere,
  • Set-up the framework to capitalize on that need (company)
  • Find the people with the skills (victims of downsizing, college graduates)
  • Trigger the demand by advertising your service/product
  • Supply the resulting demand

In the end you create a win-win situation for all. As a mastermind you identify a need and exploit the skills of these highly qualified individuals. They in turn get a job, which they didn’t have and for which they and their families will be eternally grateful to you.
