Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

What this quotes says is that I don’t have to know you, I can simply have a look at your friends. And based on what type of people they are I can make a very accurate prediction about your future, whether you’ll succeed or fail. How is this possible? How can someone make a determination about your future, without knowing you? Certainly you are different from your friends?

Actually this quote hits the nail right on the head, and here’s why. It is a fact that we get influenced by our environment. Apart from family, friends are the people we spent most of our time with. Because of this we can’t help but be influenced by what they believe and the types of people they are.

So, if your friends don’t expect to get far in life, they won’t expect you to get far in life as well, because you’re one of them. If you tell them you want to achieve your dreams which are way higher than any of them believe they can achieve… Guess what they’re going to say.

They’re going to shoot you down and this is going to create doubt in your own mind that you can achieve it. This is really no surprise. To them it will be as if you’re saying you’re better than them. It is not that your friends don’t want you to succeed, it is just that they don’t think you have it in you to make it. And guess where they get that idea from? They look at themselves and they don’t see it… and since you’re one of them, they think that you too don’t have it.

The best thing for you to do is to find friends who think like you… People who will support you. That is the key to success.

If I see you again and I see that you’re mingling with friends who are already successful, guess what I’m going to say? You guessed right. I’m going to tell you, you’re headed for success because thats where you’ll likely end up.

Now what if you could mingle with multi-millionaires and pick their brains on the things that helped them to become rich. How would that help you? I believe that will hep you a lot. It will actually change you… No, a better word is, it will transform you so that you’ll become a multimillionaire yourself.

Where can you get the opportunity to mingle with millionaires? Click the button below and find out how you can sit in the circle of multi-millionaires.

Does your mind need a super nanny?

Friday, May 7th, 2010

If you cannot focus on one thing at a time, then you need a super nanny for your mind. Don’t know who Super Nanny is?

Well, Super Nanny is a parenting show that runs on ABC and features a British woman by the name of Jo Frost. Jo is an expert in turning wayward out of control children into disciplined and loving beings.

The show usually starts with a married couple or a single mother with a two or more out of control kids who do whatever they want, whenever they want and don’t follow any rules or orders from their parents. So, after having tried everything they know to get their children into line, the desperate parents finally turn to Super Nanny for help.

Super Nanny would come over and first just watch the parents interact with their children. Then she will come up with a plan of action that she expects the parents to implement.

At the end of the intervention, the parents would be turned into effective parents with new skills and the children would listen to their parents and order would be restored in this former chaotic household.

So, you’re probably wondering… what does my mind have to do with Super nanny and unruly children?

Plenty, actually… you see, just as children become unruly if they are not subjected to a structure with consistent boundaries, so too your mind does whatever it wants if it doesn’t have boundaries that are consistent.

That is why you will find that you have difficulty concentrating on one thing for a period of time, because your mind is not used to it.

If your mind has been used to thinking about failure or lack, you cannot suddenly start thinking success, just as you cannot suddenly make an unruly child listen to you.

You have to recognize that you’re dealing with a habit… and the only way to break an undesirable habit is to introduce another habit, which is more desirable.

A habit is a set of unconscious behaviors that we engage in. When we do something consistently for more than 21 days it will become a habit (automatic behavior).

So what Super Nanny does is… she teaches the parents new strategies (which will become habits). As they introduce these new strategies in the home, it consistently required different behaviors from the children. The result: the children formed new habits.

The children were the way they were, because of the way the parents were. In other words, the bad habits of the parents instilled bad habits in the children.

When Super Nanny arrived, she changed the bad habits of the parents into good habits, which resulted in the children developing new habits.

Finally, order and peace is restored.

The same thing is going on with your mind. Trying to apply the law of attraction with old habits will not work. You are defeated, before you even begin. Your mind will constantly go back to what it knows, which are the thoughts and beliefs aligned to failure. If you want to attract success, you need to create new habits and new ways of thinking that are aligned to success and will support your expansion.

Luke 5:37-38 “And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins”.

Are you also guilty of this sin?

Many people are doing this, and I wanted to know if you are doing it too.

Their hard drive is full of ebooks they have downloaded. Self improvement products, marketing products, you name it.

Some they bought, others they got for free. What all of these products have in common is that they have never been used. Some may only have been used half-heartedly, others not at all.

Yet, whenever a new product comes out that promises to change your life, you want it too. What for, to put it on your hard drive?

The reason I’m telling you this is because it’s somethhing that I used to do, and I know many people do it too.

If you’re guilty of it as well, then I want to tell you this. Your life will only change once you use, really use the product the way the creator intended it. Consider this. There may be some products that you decided isn’t working. Could it be that you just didn’t use it properly?

So, before you rush out, looking for the next best thing, look on your hard drive. There may be something lying there that is the same or even better than what you’re planning to buy.

just thought I should let you know

A wonderful quote to start off 2010 with!

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

We are on the brink of a new year and I just wanted to share this wonderful quote by Maryanne Williamson. Nelson Mandela used it during his inauguration as president of South Africa in 1994.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I hope this quote will inspire you to do and be all that you ever dreamed of.

It is possible. You just have to believe it and start doing it. One action at a time… one day at a time and you’ll make it.

It doesn’t matter if it takes 1 year, 2 years or 8 years. The most important thing is that you start.

Why Worry, It Will Only Add to Your Troubles

Monday, December 21st, 2009

I was sitting this morning and looking at a complimentary annual calender from the security company that guard our house.

The calender features beautiful birds from all over the world. I marvelled at the birds with their beautiful features and remembered this verse in the Bible: “Don’t worry about what you’ll eat and drink. Look at the flowers and the birds in the wild. They don’t worry about any of those things, yet your father in heaven provides for them

It continues “Now if God cares that much for flowers and birds that are here today and gone tomorrow, how much more will he care for
you?”

So, I encourage you. Stop worrying about what is not working or the “bad” things that might or might not happen. Instead, focus on what you want and make it happen.

All the best.

Formal Education Will Make You A Living

Monday, December 21st, 2009

I want to share a wonderful quote from the great Jim Rohn who recently passed away. He said: “formal education will make you a living, but self education will make you a fortune”

So, I urge you to continue develop yourself. Learn as much as you can and apply it. Develop your talents, improve your body, love yourself more and I promise you. It will all be worth it, because YOU are the most important person in the world to you.

I love you and I appreciate you,

Can we really give of ourselves if we’re not free?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Recently while I was reading Stephen Covey’s book “The 7 Habits
of Highly Effective People “I came across a section where he
related how his daughter refused to share her toys with her
friends.

While reflecting upon this behavior he came to the conclusion that
“one needs to possess something first before you can share freely”.
He concluded that perhaps the reason his daughter was unable to
share is because she hadn’t had time fully “possess” these toys.

After reading this passage and reflecting upon my own life as well
as life itself in general I came to the realisation that we can
not really share of ourself. Who we are as well as what we can give
until such time as we are in posession of ourselves.

In other words, if we don’t feel free in our lives (mind, body & soul),
it means that we have yet to possess ourselves. And until we can
take posession of our being we will not be able to fully share
our love and talents with others.

We will always feel like something is holding us back. And this
feeling will also be reflected in how others respond to us. Only
when we become fully free and uninhibited will others respond to
us in a way that brings total success and fulfillment.

When we are truly free we are not afraid to take risks, because if
we fail we only have to account to ourselves. No one else. However
when we’re afraid of doing certan things for fear of failure or for
fear of what others would think of us, then we are still not really
free.

In many instances we have to first achieve an inner freedom before
we can achieve financial freedom.

What do you think of my conclusions?

Do you agree or not. Or is there anything else you would like to
add?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Your friend and partner in success,

Jimmy

Start where you are, with what you have

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe

What do you want… where you want to go… what do you want to accomplish? Well, whatever it is, the best place to start is right where you are, using whatever it is you want.

Many people wait for things to change, or for them to be in a new relationship, or to have more money before they start doing something. However the truth is that you’ll never started if that is your attitude.

Your ship will never come in. You have to swim out towards it. You have everything you need right where you are, even if it doesn’t seem like it.

If there is something you don’t like where you are right now, then change it. If you can’t change it, then accept it. It may be just what you need right now.

The greatest asset that you have right now, is your mind. If your mindset and your attitude is right you can do, be and have anything you want.

As you start using what you have, you’ll find that you’re starting to receive more. So be grateful for what you have and focus on what you want, not what is… because when you do, you’ll receive more of the same.

I’m still vacationing in Namibia, Africa right now. There are many things that I miss that I have in the Caribbean, such as the cheap Internet connectivity. But instead of worrying about that I appreciate what I have here, such as family and friends and good food, which I will not have when I return soon.
