Are you running away from the desires of your heart?

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

Yesterday while I was sitting on my bed working on my laptop I suddenly heard flapping wings. When looked up I saw a small bird flying around in my bedroom.

I was stunned for a moment, trying to figure out how the bird could have entered the house. So I just sat there for a moment watching it, flying from window to window as it looked for a way to escape.

After watching the bird for about two or three minutes and seeing that it wouldn’t be able to escape I decided to catch it and set it free.

So, I got up and tried to catch the bird, which was trying to avoid being caught. After chasing it around for about 3 minutes I finally cornered and caught the little bird.

It was so exhausted of all its efforts to try and escape and was obviously very scared. It probably expected to be killed any moment now.

However, I didn’t kill it. I took it outside and released it. But strangely enough, it didn’t fly away immediately. It said at the same place where I put it down for a little while before it eventually flew away.

Afterwards I contemplated what had just happened. And as I thought about it, I started to see similarities between what had just happened and what is happening daily with us in a spiritual way.

Most of us do not like what we are experiencing daily, in other words we don’t like our lives and we want to change it. So we start to pray about it, and affirm it, and visualize it.

And before long, a series of things start to happen. It seems as if things are going from bad to worse, and we become even more unhappy.

So, you do whatever you can to resent and resist all these new “bad” events.

But what you do not know is that these events were set in motion by your desires. Your desire to be free… to have more money… to be more successful and to have more personal fulfillment.

You activated the law of attraction and the Universe responded, putting the process in motion.

But unfortunately you don’t see it that way, and you resist it… in essence resisting the very things you say you want.

When that bird ended up in my bedroom, it was outside of its comfort zone. It wanted to get out of that situation, and was doing everything that it knew how, but wasn’t succeeding.

So I saw its plight, and got up to rescue it. However the bird didn’t see it that way.

In my getting up and trying to rescue it, it saw danger and a terrible outcome. It expected to be killed. It wanted to remain in control at all cost, so as to prevent that.

If it had just let go, I would have been able to catch it sooner and would have been able to release it sooner.

However, it didn’t. It tried to get away and flew into mirrors and into the window glass, hurting itself and causing unnecessary stress that it could have avoided.

I eventually caught the bird and it realized that I wasn’t planning to harm it after all.

So you too are running, and running until you can’t run anymore. Running from what you deem to be a terrible outcome, which is actually your freedom disguised as some unwelcome experience. You want to keep control at all cost, because you’re afraid that the Universe will not supply in your needs. In other words, you don’t have faith… that things will work out.

The sooner you realize that the things that are happening to you today are not there to harm you, but to free you, the sooner you’ll have the things you’ve always wanted.

Whether it is more money… better health, or more happiness… It is all ready and waiting for you as soon as you just let go and let God take control.

I’m reminded at this time of the saying, “whatever doesn’t kill you, can only make you stronger.”

Can you increase your faith?

I have always wondered why birds can sit on a live electric wire and not get electrocuted. However, I remember occasions where I heard that some of them got electrocuted.

So the other day I was having an interesting discussion with a good friend of mine who is also an electrical engineer. We were talking about electricity and the law of attraction in general.

Suddenly, I remembered that I always wanted to know why birds don’t get electrocuted and I posed the question to him. And here is what he told me.

”The reason the birds are not electrocuted is, because they only touch one wire at a time. However, if they were to touch both wires at the same time, they would be killed instantly.”

So I asked him, what about human beings? He said that we too could touch one wire at a time and be safe, provided we’re suspended in the air and don’t touch the ground. However, the moment we touch the ground or both wires at the same time we’ll be fried.

Here’s what he told me. The electric current is there and potentially ready to flow through you, and kill you, as soon as you touch the other wire or touch the ground. But until you do that… nothing will happen.

Do you see why that’s so powerful… That perfectly describes the potential in you, and me and every other human being.

You have this potential to change your life at any given moment. It is there, waiting and ready… the law of attraction, ever consistent and always working is there waiting and ready… and the moment you tap into it, your life will change. However, until you take that “one action” and touch both wires or touch the ground, nothing will happen.

Everything will stay the same.

Most people want to see something happen to them before they believe and take that action, but it doesn’t work that way.

You have to believe and take the action first, before it can happen to you.

Nobody can do it for you, only you can. When I touch both electric wires, something will happen to me… but only after I have touched it, not before.

Now here’s the other interesting part.

You are more likely to believe that something negative will happen to you, then you are to believe that something positive will happen to you.

Let me explain…

If you see someone else touch the wires and get electrocuted, you’ll easily believe and expect the same to happen to you. However if someone else applies the law of attraction and change his life, you’ll say it happened to him, but somehow doubt that it will happen to you. Author Alan Tutt, said something very powerful in his book “Keys to Prosperity”. He said that it is not really that you don’t have faith or that you have little faith. Rather he says, your faith is directed the wrong way.

Instead of expecting to succeed you expect to fail, which is the same as having faith in failure.

Whenever you say “what if”… or think of all the things that can go wrong, it is nothing other than your faith in failure talking.

But you can change all of that today…

Simply click here and take the action that will cause the current of abundant health and wealth to flow through you and transform you.

The Power of Your Belief

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

A long time ago a man who became the father of the US Auto Industry made a very profound statement which still rings true today. This man’s name is Henry Ford, and this is what he said: “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.”

I can also put it another way, “whether you believe you can or you can’t, either way you’re right”. This is because your thinking is consistent with your belief. You have to first believe I Can, before you can think I Can. Conversely, if you don’t think you can, it’s only because you don’t believe that you can.

Your belief system affects every aspect of your life, from how you relate to yourself to how you relate to others and how others relate to you. In fact, how others relate to you is nothing more than a reflection of how you see yourself.

If you want others to think highly of you, you must first believe that you are valuable and worthy. In other words, you must think highly of yourself.

If you want others to believe in your vision you must first believe in your own vision. Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi all believed in their vision of a non-racial society where people of all races will live together in peace, love and harmony.

Barack Obama had to believe in his own vision of a new and better America. And by doing so, he inspired a whole nation. That is what made the difference between him and the other candidates. He believed in something and he was selling this idea to the people, who in the end bought it.

Why do you need to believe in something? Everything you produce or stand for is a reflection of you. The way people view you is the way that they will view whatever you stand for, whether it is a product or service. If they like you or what you stand For, they’ll likely like your product or service.

What this means is that your belief is directly related to your success or failure in life.

Somebody who believes fervently can change situations that seem impossible. There are those individuals in the business world commonly referred to as turn-around specialists. They are often handed companies that are on the brink of collapse and that no-one wants to touch. Yet they somehow manage turn it around. An example of someone like that is Mitt Romney who was running for the Republican presidential nomination.

How do they do it? They are able to do it, because they believe that they Can.

Somebody who has faith; in other words, believes that it is possible can drive a car on an empty tank for a whole day, as I have done many times.

Sometimes the difference between healing and not healing is belief, also called faith.

Whenever Jesus met people who needed healing, he always asked them, “Do you believe that I can make you well?” and whenever they replied yes, the healing always followed. Why would Jesus do that, even when it was clear to him and everybody else that the person is sick and therefore needs healing? The reason is simple: Jesus knew that belief facilitates healing and hence it was necessary to get people to believe, before they receive it.

I always thought that if a product works for A, B & C it will also work for me. I discovered this is not necessarily the case. Sometimes the difference between whether a product does for you what the owner claims it does or doesn’t, depend on your belief and expectation. If you have a negative attitude towards the product, it’s probably not going to work for you, even though it worked for someone else. It doesn’t mean the product is bad, it just means your belief and expectation got in the way.

Lance Armstrong not only defeated cancer, which is already an unbelievable feat in itself, but he went on and won the “Tour De France, the premier cycle race in the world, a record 7 times. How did he do it? By believing He Can.

As I write this article, he is busy training to try and win it an unprecedented eight time.

Don’t be angry with the people in your life

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

All of us have experience of this. The people in our lives who are like a thorn in our flesh. It is as if they simply dislike us for no reason at all, and many a time we wish that we could just make them disappear.

It could be someone like our former boss who fired us for no good reason. Or that other person who did something that really hurt us and who we are just unable to forgive.  Every time you think about what that person did, you get all angry.

It is because of them that our lives are the way it is, we say.

The thing is this. Blaming other people for our lives, no matter what they did will not take us forward. Rather it keeps us where we are, or it takes us back into the past.

Our dreams and desires for the future will only remain that. A dream for the future, until we realize that we need to forgive those people and move on. Fact is, we actually attracted those people into our lives and the reason we attracted them into our lives is because we needed them at a period in time.

The people who are in our lives and whom we hate or resent are there because there is something in us that needs to change or there is a situation that we need to change or get out of.

For example, if you are in a job where you are having problems with your boss it may mean that there is a better job out there for you. The difficulties you experience will cause you to start looking for another job or even to consider starting your own business. If you had no problems you would be comfortable where you are and would make no effort towards something better.

Or you may be in relationship with someone who doesn’t appreciate you and abuse you and you may resent this person who abuse you. However that person may actually be doing you a favor. because if he didn’t abuse you, you wouldn’t leave and eventually start your own business or do something else that you were meant to do.

Many people lost jobs or were kicked out by their spouses. At the time they may have felt that life is unfair, but now after the passage of time they’ll all welcome what happened to them. Hindsight is a wonderful thing because it allows you to see the full picture and not just the limited piture you saw before.

On Saturday October 05, 2008 renowned film maker Tyler Perry unveiled a new multimillion-dollar TV and film studio on 30 acres in southwest Atlanta.

According to Perry, he once considered leaving Atlanta for good after neighbors complained about noise and traffic at his old studio in a neighborhood close to downtown.

“Even though the studio was there for 15 years, there was a lot of resistance in everything I was doing,” Perry said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press earlier in the week. “I was thinking about leaving at one point, but this is home for me.”

His new Tyler Perry Studios contains more than 200,000 square feet of studio and office space in an area that once housed Delta Air Lines’ finance, reservation and computer center. It was vacant when Perry found it.

Perry said he knew the new location would be an improvement. His old building was on property zoned commercial, but the street next to it is residential.

“I knew spiritually I was in the wrong place,” said Perry, whose projects include “Tyler Perry’s the Family That Preys.”

“You can never be upset with the people who forced you into your dream or up higher,” he said. “They forced me out into a higher situation. It’s worked out much better for me.”

But one doesn’t have to wait for hindsight to see the big picture. You can learn to trust in a higher power, knowing that it will never lead you to a place that you don’t want to be. It will always take you to your heart’s desire.

And in time, hindsight will confirm what you knew all along.

Here is what Outrageous Mastery did for me

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Hi there, thanks for visiting.

How are you doing today.

I just thought I should tell you a little bit about what Sasha’s book did for me.

I bought her trilogy, Book 1, 2 & Playbook about two weeks ago.

I have finished reading Book 1 which is a thrilling read by the way. But the most important part of that trilogy is Books 2 & 3 (Playbook) which I am now busy
working through.

In Book 1 Sasha tells you her story and in Book 2 she tells you exactly how she did what she did. You then follow along and start to play with your own dreams and desires.

What this book has done for me so far is, it gave me the courage to attempt things I would never even have tried before.

Why?

Because I have gained a new belief that I Can!

Sasha has helped me to believe that there is nothing that I cannot, do, be or have.

Previously I would tone down my goals because I have learned that I must take goals that are “believable” In other words not so outrageous.

Sasha’s book has turned all that on its head and showed me that all I need to change is my faith, not my goals.

As for my goals, the more outrageous, the better.

This morning I listened to Fox & Friends, and Gretchen said she asked her daughter if Sarah Palin is qualified to be Vice President.

And here is the enlightening answer that she got, “Isn’t she born in the United States?”

The implication is that if she is born in the United States, there isn’t any other reason why she can’t be vice president.

Sasha’s book teaches us to become like children and believe wholeheartedly, without reservation, because that is where miracles reside.

So, if you have been on the fence wondering if this book is worth spending your money on, then I hope that I have given you a new appreciation for it.

How to Use Your Faith to Move Mountains

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Most people believe that faith is something powerful to have and that by having faith they can accomplish great things. However they think that in order to accomplish great things they need to have more faith then they currently have. Jesus’ disciples thought so too, hence their request to him to increase their faith. Jesus’ though didn’t agree and responded as follows…

Matthew 17:20, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

So what Jesus is telling his disciples and us is that it is not the amount of faith that you have, it is a question of what you do with what you have. I think this is true about many things, not just faith.

But how do we use the faith we have, even if it is little, to accomplish great things?

First, let us look at what faith is.

What is faith? I went and consulted a dictionary on the Internet and found the following definitions on http://dictionary.reference.com

    1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another’s ability.
    2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.

I also looked in the Bible and found this definition in Hebrews 11 Verse 1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

What we can deduct from the above definitions is that faith is a steadfast confidence, trust or belief that something is a certain way, even if you have no way of actually proving that it is so.

Furthermore faith is not just saying that you believe this and that, but your faith is demonstrated by and through taking action, which brings about the powerful results that are associated with it.

Abraham in the Bible is called the father of faith because he is the first person we have a record of as having trusted God. Abraham trusted God to give him a child even though he was ninety-nine years old (Gen. 22:2).

After that Abraham trusted that God knew what he was doing when God commanded him to sacrifice his son. He didn’t understand why he had to do this but he trusted and obeyed. In the nick of time God provided an animal for the sacrifice, and Isaac was saved.

There are numerous other examples of people who demonstrated faith such as the woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years.

Mark 5:25-34 “Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment; for she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.

“And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, `Who touched Me?’ ” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing.

“But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

What prevents all of us from having this kind of faith and making our lives better? There are two things: Doubt and fear.

Doubt and fear destroys faith, and the Bible says that in order to make faith work there must be a total absence of fear and doubt. James 1:6 “But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.”

How does doubt and fear destroy faith?

When you have faith you absolutely believe in something, so much so that you put whatever you have on the line to prove that it will be so.

Doubt and fear is the total opposite, because it questions if it will be indeed so.

Doubt and fear are usually a result of either not believing that God or the Universe are able to do something or not believing that God will do something for you, which has to do with feeling unworthy.

Do you need to be a Christian or believe in God to make faith work for you? Absolutely not! There are many people who don’t believe in a God like the Christians do. Instead they believe in a Universal power or Infinite Intelligence. Others believe in the power of their subconscious mind. And all of them use their faith believing that things will work out for them, and it does.

All of us can have the type of faith that moves mountains, not next year or next month but today.
